Get to know me!

Dr. Bill Seiler, PT, DPT, OCS is passionate about helping people move, feel, and perform at their best. With nearly a decade of experience in sports medicine and a board certification in orthopedics, he specializes in empowering individuals to achieve peak performance while minimizing the risk of future injuries or illness.

A small-town Illinois native, Dr. Seiler first came to West Michigan to play collegiate basketball and earn his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Hope College, before returning to Illinois to complete his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Bradley University. Over the years he has worked as a physical therapist he has and clinic director dealing directly with sports medicine and orthopedic clients, while also providing employer and preventive care services to organizations in Illinois and Michigan.

As a former collegiate athlete, Dr. Seiler understands that the demands of sports require special care above and beyond what can be achieved in the normal healthcare setting. The dedication to health, physique, and fitness required to perform at a high level requires a tailored regimen specific to the demands of the sport. Dr. Seiler regularly delves into research and literature to further his knowledge of sports performance, recovery from injury, and injury prevention and incorporates it into care for his athletes. He is not afraid to push athletes but also understands what the body needs in order to heal. He combines his drive to help one perform with nearly a decade of experience in sports medicine to provide top tier intervention to athletes across the lifespan ranging from novice to professional. He practices what he preaches as a health enthusiast, avid runner, consistent weight lifter, and recreational athlete.

In regards to prevention, Dr. Seiler firmly believes that healthcare is too little too late in intervening, and should be more proactive, not reactive, in meeting each person’s health needs. Many of the leading healthcare costs in the United States are considered preventable, and Dr. Seiler developed a passion early in his career for providing the education and intervention needed to reverse this trend. This interest was further ignited after completing a certification in Applied Prevention and Health Promotion, where Dr. Seiler began to focus his efforts on treating the whole person and not just the aches and pains at hand. He understands the small choices we make now impact our long term health. Thus, he aims to partner with employers, local health care professionals, and patients to take a more proactive and holistic approach to improve health and well-being. He finds satisfaction in walking alongside individuals on their health journey, serving as a resource, an encourager, and a provider.

He founded ShoreUp with the goal of providing a service above and beyond what can be received in the normal healthcare setting. He is passionate about removing barriers to exercise and promoting long-term health through a holistic approach that integrates healthy lifestyle and exercise. He loves working with athletes or individuals looking to improve health and performance. He thrives on collaboration with like-minded professionals to help people not just survive, but truly thrive.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Seiler enjoys spending time with his wife and two children in Grand Haven, embracing the outdoors, staying active, and being involved in his church and community.
